Janet Makori is a DNP student at Eastern Kentucky University. She works fulltime as a clinical assistant faculty in Texas. She has completed her Associate Degree in Nursing (2005) from Brookhaven College, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN-BSN, 2007) at the University of Texas in Arlington and Master of Science in Nursing (2010) from Texas Woman’s University. She is interested in completing a DNP project on the effectiveness of weekly follow up of uninsured patients who have a history of Type 2 Diabetes. She will do her DNP project at a charity medical organization that serves uninsured, undocumented, homeless, low-income earners and unemployed individuals. She has worked in different nursing areas including Medical-surgical, oncology, post anesthesia care, Pre-operative, and Post-operative units. She also worked in case management with a focus on utilization review.
She lives in Keller, Texas.
