East Tennessee State University’s College of Nursing is excited to announce that the 2023 International Rural Nursing Conference will be held in Johnson City, Tennessee from July 25-28, 2023.  The theme this year is Nurses Addressing Rural Health Equity in Practice, Education, and Research.

The 2023 International Rural Nursing Conference is focused on bringing together rural and remote nurses, other healthcare professionals, educators, and researchers to address the unique and varied health aspects of rural and remote communities focusing on culture, global health, policy, and interdisciplinary professional issues.

Objectives:

1. Culture/Social:Recognize how culture/social determinants of health impact health and healthcare equity, and adopt culturally safe, client-centered approaches to promote positive health outcomes for global rural and remote clients, communities, and populations.
2. Health Across the Globe: Examine WHO global health indicators for practice, education, and research strategies to promote the overall health and well-being of rural clients, communities, and populations.
3. Policy:Analyze current policies and the leadership skills required to promote positive equitable change for rural/remote nurses, other healthcare professionals, clients, communities, and populations.
4. Professional:Evaluate common solutions to address professional issues and challenges involving rural/remote nurses and other health care professionals to promote a healthy workforce for rural/remote clients, communities, and populations.
