Home Forums DNP and Policy and/or Legislation Nurses Need Secretaries (YouTube Link)

Long standing stereotypes about the nature and value of nursing have prevented hospitals from structuring health care in a logical and efficient way. Nurses need at least one clerical assistant to remove administrative burdens from them and allow nurses to stay at the bedside where they can be most effective at saving lives. Very little of what nurses do away from the bedside requires a nursing education, so why have nurses do that work? Especially in this Covid-19 crisis where nurses are under crushing burdens of a lifetime, lets restructure hospital workflow, and offload clerical work so nurses can save more lives. Think bold, be brave, do this for nurses and together, we will save lives.

Click Here to see this YouTube video. This looks to be a great DNP project if the stakeholders would support this effort to test for improved outcomes.
